Please allow me to introduce myself...
I was born in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up immersed in New York's pop culture. Art, design, books and music have played a major role in my life , and continue to define who I am and what I do.
After college, I moved to the upper West Side of Manhattan and, after a few years, became the Art Director for Sire Records; home of the Ramones, Madonna and countless other great American bands. Sire was also a benchmark record company, bringing British rock to this country. I designed all the album covers, and commissioned original
art for covers, advertising, point of purchase displays, T-shirts, location photo shoots, etc. The album covers, which coincided with the release and subsequent marketing and promotion of the album, were used as the main design element for all aspects of the album's promo, including the look of the tickets and back stage passes. I have had more than a brief encounter with the recording industry.
Following a lifelong dream, I opened art galleries - THE ART OF MUSIC . The gallery dealt only with the paintings, photography and memorabilia of legendary music/entertainment icons - John Lennon, Tony Bennett, Jimi Hendrix, Ronnie Wood, to name a few. The gallery was quite well known and was unique. As a certified custom frame designer, I offered this service in my galleries and started to do wall arrangement for clients in their homes. I continue to do custom frame designs.
Traveling back and forth to our family homes in London and New Jersey, influenced and expanded my understanding of what makes a great living space. I relished the idea of working in 3-D...creating interiors. Aside from the beauty and calming nature of living with fine art, space should work in sync with the person occupying it. I am sensitive to the newest ideas and trends, in addition to the classic elements that have withstood the test of time, and I continue to expand and refine my vision as I take in the world around us.
